【Tencent】We Visited “Penguin Island”

Recently, our team from Beyond, including members from Japan, visited Tencent’s limited-time event, “Penguin Island”, held in Futian, Shenzhen.

Event Overview

Arrival at the Event Venue

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a giant Tencent penguin character prominently displayed at the entrance.

It was large and adorable, making it a perfect spot for a commemorative photo.

Entering the Event Venue

We explored the event venue while experiencing Tencent’s services and technologies firsthand.

There were also displays introducing the history of Shenzhen.

WeChat’s “Palm Payment”

By simply placing your palm over the scanning area of the payment device, you can make a payment easily without using a smartphone.

Of course, there is no need to physically touch the device with your hand.

Introduction to Tencent’s Future Headquarters

We viewed a 3D display of “Penguin Island”, which is expected to be the location of Tencent’s future headquarters.

The site covers approximately 1.3 million square meters, with a total investment of 31.9 billion yuan, making it an extremely large-scale project.

It is scheduled to be fully completed by 2028 and is expected to accommodate 75,000 office workers.
