These .wpress<\/span> files contain all your WordPress data, including theme files, plugins, and folders. However, since everything is compressed into a single file, viewing the contents requires a specific approach.<\/p>\n

In this post, I will show you how to easily check the contents of a .wpress<\/span> file using a tool called Traktor.<\/p>\n

Traktor is a dedicated extraction tool provided by ServMask for .wpress<\/span> files, designed to work alongside the “All-in-One WP Migration” plugin.<\/p>\n

How to Inspect a .wpress File: A Step-by-Step Guide<\/h2>\n

\u2460 Export the .wpress File via All-in-One WP Migration<\/h3>\n

First things first: you need the backup file itself. Start by exporting your site data using the \u300cAll-in-One WP Migration\u300d plugin.<\/p>\n

In your WordPress Dashboard, look at the sidebar menu on the left. Navigate to All-in-One WP Migration and click on Export.<\/p>\n

Next, click the \u300cEXPORT TO\u300d button to reveal the destination options.<\/p>\n

For this guide, select \u300cFILE\u300d. This will export the data and save it directly to your local computer.<\/p>\n

The export process will start immediately. Depending on the size of your site’s data, this can take anywhere from a few minutes to upwards of 30 minutes to complete.<\/p>\n

Click the button labeled \u300cDOWNLOAD [YOUR SITE NAME]\u300dto save the .wpress<\/span> data file to your computer. And with that, your preparation is complete!<\/p>\n

\u2461 Install the Traktor Tool<\/h3>\n

Now that you have your backup file, it’s time to inspect it. Go ahead and download the installer for the \u300cTraktor Desktop<\/a>\u300d version and install it on your computer.<\/p>\n

(Note: I will be using the Windows version for this demonstration.)<\/p>\n

Once you’ve downloaded the Traktor installer, go ahead and run it. You will be prompted to choose a destination folder on your computer for the installation.<\/p>\n

After the installation is complete, find and click the Traktor.exe<\/span> file to launch the program.<\/p>\n

*\u00a0You will use this Traktor.exe<\/span> file whenever you want to check the contents of your .wpress<\/span> files.<\/span><\/p>\n

Once you click Traktor.exe<\/span>, a popup window labeled \u300cPlease open a backup\u300d will appear on your screen.<\/p>\n

Next, simply click the \u300cOpen a backup\u300d button and select the .wpress<\/span> file you exported earlier.<\/p>\n

You will see the following popup appear. Click the\u300cExtract to \u300dbutton and select the destination folder where you want to unpack your .wpress<\/span> file.<\/p>\n

(For this example, I am selecting a folder named \u300cSample folder\u300d.)<\/p>\n

*\u00a0You must select (or create) a specific folder for this step. If you don’t designate a destination folder, you won’t be able to view or browse the extracted data in your computer’s file explorer.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can now fully access and browse the unpacked .wpress<\/span> data right inside your computer’s file explorer.<\/p>\n

Because the folder structure mirrors exactly what you would see when accessing your server via an FTP client, navigating through your files feels intuitive and familiar.<\/p>\n
